The variance floor for a normal mean with known spread

An instrument produces readings X1,,XnX_1, \dots, X_n that are i.i.d. Normal with unknown mean μ\mu and known standard deviation σ\sigma.

Compute the Fisher information for μ\mu, state the Cramer-Rao lower bound on the variance of an unbiased estimator of μ\mu, and check whether Xˉ\bar X attains it.
